Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami Flags Off Chardham Yatra 2025 from Rishikesh

Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the inauguration ceremony of the “Chardham Yatra 2025 from Rishikesh”, organized by the Joint Rotation Travel Arrangement Committee at ISBT, Rishikesh on Saturday. On this occasion, he extended a warm welcome to the pilgrims embarking on the yatra and flagged off the first batch of 10 buses carrying pilgrims to the sacred Char Dham shrines.

 

The Chief Minister prayed for the safe and successful pilgrimage of all devotees visiting Baba Kedarnath, Badrivishal, Maa Gangotri, and Maa Yamunotri. Expressing optimism, he stated that this year’s Chardham Yatra is expected to surpass all previous records and set a new milestone. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to ensuring a safe and seamless pilgrimage, and informed that regular reviews of all yatra-related preparations are being conducted at every level.

 

He added that the government’s aim is to ensure that pilgrims return home with good memories and positive experiences of their time spent in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand.

 

Highlighting the economic impact, the Chief Minister said that lakhs of pilgrims from across India and abroad visit Uttarakhand, creating employment opportunities for local residents. The government has taken comprehensive steps to ensure that all necessary facilities and services are available to pilgrims during the yatra.

 

CM Dhami appealed to all pilgrims and tourists to contribute to keeping Devbhoomi clean and sacred, and emphasized the government’s focus on green and clean pilgrimage initiatives.

 

The Chief Minister also lauded the efforts made under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, citing the rapid progress in the reconstruction of Kedarnath and the master plan of Badrinath. He mentioned that the Gaurikund-Kedarnath ropeway project, once completed, will make the journey even more convenient. He also highlighted the improved accessibility of the Chardham circuit due to the construction of the All-Weather Road, significantly reducing travel time from Rishikesh to the Char Dhams.

 

CM Dhami appreciated the initiative taken by the Joint Rotation Travel Arrangement Committee for facilitating smooth travel arrangements for the pilgrims.

 

Also present at the occasion were Cabinet Minister Shri Subodh Uniyal, MLA Shri Premchand Aggarwal, Mayor Shri Shambhu Paswan, GMOA President Shri Bhaskaranand Bhardwaj, TGMOC President Shri Jitendra Singh Negi, Garhwal Mandal Contract Association President Shri Sanjay Shastri, Secretary Shri Devendra Singh Rawat, and other dignitaries. A large number of pilgrims from various states and local residents were also in attendance.
