Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami Directs Strengthening of Security and Public Service Mechanisms in the State
Dehradun, 28 April 2025: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami chaired a virtual meeting with all District Magistrates and senior officials of the state from the Chief Minister’s residence today. During the meeting, the Chief Minister issued several critical directives to ensure effective governance, particularly in view of the ongoing Char Dham Yatra and other important events.
The Chief Minister emphasized that robust security arrangements must be ensured at all religious and tourist sites, with special focus on the Char Dham Yatra. District Magistrates were instructed to conduct regular monitoring of security measures in their respective districts. CM Dhami also directed that immediate action be taken against individuals or groups spreading fake news through various platforms, particularly during the Char Dham Yatra and in other sensitive matters. Accurate and verified information must be regularly disseminated through all channels by the District Administration.
Highlighting the need for strict verification processes, the Chief Minister instructed that landlords failing to verify tenants would face legal action. Verification of individuals living in makeshift settlements, including vendors, street hawkers, and slum dwellers, must also be completed promptly. Strict action will be taken against those responsible for issuing ration cards, Aadhaar cards, electricity connections, Ayushman cards, and other documents to ineligible beneficiaries. District authorities were directed to assign departmental officers specifically for conducting verification drives.
Special attention is to be given to forest fire management, with strict action against those found responsible for causing forest fires. Regarding public health, the Chief Minister directed that comprehensive measures be taken to control the spread of dengue, including regular fogging and public awareness campaigns.
CM Dhami instructed that hospitals must not experience electricity rostering and directed officials to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity and drinking water across the state during the summer season. Special arrangements must also be made to ensure adequate drinking water availability.
With regard to the upcoming Kainchi Dham Annual Festival, the Chief Minister stressed the need to ensure well-maintained roads and sufficient parking facilities.
The Chief Minister also directed all District Magistrates to conduct surprise inspections of various government offices regularly, ensuring administrative systems remain efficient and public grievances are addressed promptly. Regular organization of multipurpose camps, Tehsil Days, and BDC meetings was also emphasized.
In matters of infrastructure and industry, CM Dhami directed that progress on the installation of smart meters be closely monitored, and consumer grievances regarding electricity bills be addressed seriously. Immediate action must be taken against those causing damage to government property.
It was also directed that tenders up to ₹10 crore value be awarded to local contractors, and that regular engagement be maintained with stakeholders from the industrial sector. To promote self-employment, all districts have been assigned targets under the Chief Minister Solar Self-Employment Scheme, and efforts must be made to achieve these targets promptly.
Specific instructions were given to ensure smooth traffic management and road maintenance during the Char Dham Yatra. Priority is to be given to local horse and mule operators for the pilgrimage. Cleanliness, beautification, and provision of basic facilities along the yatra routes must be ensured. Officials were also instructed to check rate lists along the travel routes and ensure there are no complaints of overpricing.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Shri R.K. Sudhanshu, Principal Secretary Shri R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Additional Director General of Police Shri A.P. Anshuman, Garhwal Commissioner Shri Vinay Shankar Pandey, and, through virtual mode, Kumaon Commissioner Shri Deepak Rawat, along with all District Magistrates.
