National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), Dehradun, organized a two-day Turf Cricket Tournament on 11th and 12th October 2025 at Sumukha Sports Arena, to celebrate its 11th Inception Day.
The opening ceremony was graced by Shri Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Secretary, Public Works Department (PWD), Government of Uttarakhand, along with the Chief Engineer (NH), PWD Uttarakhand, and the Regional Officer, NHAI, Dehradun, who jointly inaugurated the event and encouraged the participants with their motivating words.
A total of eight teams representing various key infrastructure organizations participated in the tournament — MoRT&H, NHIDCL-A, NHIDCL-B, NHAI-A, NHAI-B, PWD (NH), RVNL, and Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The event fostered camaraderie and sportsmanship among professionals from different agencies engaged in the nation’s highway and infrastructure development.
Day 1 featured a series of competitive knockout matches, where teams NHIDCL-B, NHAI-A, PWD (NH), and RVNL emerged victorious, securing their positions in the semifinals. The semifinal and final matches are scheduled for 12th October 2025, promising an exciting conclusion to the spirited tournament.
The event reflects NHIDCL’s commitment not only towards excellence in infrastructure development but also towards promoting teamwork, wellness, and inter-agency collaboration through sports and community engagement.
