ABVP National Executive Council Meeting to Conclude Tomorrow; Four Resolutions to be Adopted
The ongoing National Executive Council Meeting of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) today witnessed extensive deliberations on important issues including education, the global scenario, India’s research ecosystem, and national security.
Karyakartas from various states across the nation participated in the discussions and offered their suggestions on the draft resolutions pertaining to education, urban Maoism, women’s safety, and the global scenario. Following detailed deliberations, all four resolutions will be placed before the Council for unanimous adoption tomorrow. During today’s proceedings, ABVP also called upon Indian entrepreneurs to enhance their contribution towards research and development, thereby achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat.
ABVP National General Secretary Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki, while urging Indian entrepreneurs to increase investment in research and development, stated:
“Strengthening India’s research infrastructure and fostering a robust research ecosystem are essential for realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat. India’s rise as a leading global power requires the coordinated efforts of both public institutions and the industrial sector. At present, India spends less than one percent of its GDP on research and development, with nearly sixty percent of this contribution coming from government-supported institutions such as ISRO, DRDO, leading educational institutions, and universities. As opportunities continue to expand across sectors and Indian entrepreneurs emerge stronger alongside India’s growing global stature, there is a pressing need for industry to establish long-term partnerships with educational and research institutions. Greater investments in research and development, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, cybersecurity, biotechnology, clean energy and other emerging sectors will not only strengthen India’s innovation capacity but also increase the nation’s overall expenditure on research and development. ABVP has consistently maintained that education is not merely a means of obtaining degrees or employment; it is the foundation of nation-building and knowledge creation. Guided by this vision, ABVP has always emphasized the promotion of research, innovation, and scientific temper within educational institutions. A meaningful synergy between the resources of industry and the capabilities of educational institutions will provide fresh momentum to the national resolve of an Atmanirbhar Bharat. Enhanced investment in research is not only a catalyst for economic growth but also a vital pillar for India’s technological self-reliance, national security, and global leadership.”
