Under the directions of Deepam Seth, Director General of Police, Uttarakhand, an intensive verification drive has been launched across the state to further strengthen law and order and establish effective control over suspicious individuals. This special campaign will be conducted in all districts at the circle, police station, and outpost levels.
▪️ Under this campaign, verification will be carried out of individuals residing in multi-storey apartments, ashrams, dharamshalas, rented houses, flats, PG accommodations, homestays, hotels, and guest houses. Verification of property dealers, real estate agents, and brokers will also be ensured, and tenancy agreements executed through them will be examined. Strict legal action will be taken against those renting properties without police verification or providing shelter to suspicious individuals.
▪️ A special verification drive will be conducted for home delivery services, delivery agents associated with e-commerce platforms, security agency staff, cab operators, and contractors in industrial areas. Personnel associated with various online services, including Amazon, Zomato, and Blinkit, will be prioritized for identification and verification.
▪️ During the campaign, modern technological tools and central databases will be used to identify suspicious individuals. Information matching and precise analysis will be conducted through platforms such as National Intelligence Grid (NATGRID), Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS), and Interoperable Criminal Justice System (ICJS), along with other central and state security portals.
▪️ Illegal migrants, particularly infiltrators, Bangladeshi nationals, and foreign nationals overstaying beyond their visa validity, will be identified and strict legal action will be ensured against them under relevant statutory provisions.
▪️ In all residential areas, malls, shopping complexes, service centers, coaching institutes, gyms, schools, universities, transport agencies, beauty parlors, and salons across the state, the availability, functionality, and recording systems of high-resolution CCTV cameras will be inspected. Background verification of deployed security personnel will be ensured, and necessary security briefings will be provided.
▪️ Single residents and senior citizens living in various areas will be identified, and their security arrangements will be assessed. Mandatory verification will also be ensured for their domestic helpers, caretakers, drivers, and other support staff.
▪️ During the campaign, district police will work in coordination with the Local Intelligence Unit (LIU), SOG, and STF. Information received will be analyzed, and coordination will be established with other states and central agencies as required. Special field teams have been constituted at every police station level. A review mechanism has been implemented from CO level up to IG Range level.
▪️ The Director General of Police stated that this comprehensive campaign of Uttarakhand Police is aimed at ensuring the safety of women, senior citizens, and local residents. “Along with continuous monitoring of the entire campaign, accountability has been fixed at every level.
