Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami has issued firm and comprehensive directives to ensure that the Char Dham Yatra 2026 is conducted in a more organized, safe, clean, and technologically advanced manner, offering a seamless experience to pilgrims arriving from across India and the world.<\/p>\n

Chairing a high-level review meeting at Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Auditorium, Vishwakarma Bhawan in the Secretariat on Thursday, the Chief Minister emphasized that human sensitivity must take precedence over commercial considerations, especially in critical services like heli operations. He stated, \u201cThe safety and convenience of every pilgrim is our personal responsibility.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Chief Minister directed that last year\u2019s \u2018Green & Clean Char Dham Yatra\u2019 campaign be implemented on a much larger scale this year. To ensure a plastic-free pilgrimage, he instructed officials to install an adequate number of collection boxes along the routes and enforce strict restrictions on plastic usage. He also warned that any attempt to spread misinformation regarding the Yatra would invite immediate FIR and strict legal action.<\/p>\n

Emphasizing public participation, CM Dhami called for active involvement of local bodies, voluntary organizations, and youth to transform the Yatra into a people-driven movement. He issued strict instructions for heli services, mandating adherence to SOPs, regular maintenance, compulsory fitness checks, and adequate rest intervals to avoid operational overloading.<\/p>\n

To enhance preparedness, the Chief Minister directed further strengthening of weather-based real-time monitoring systems. He also instructed the development of attractive selfie points and theme-based installations at key locations, along with improvements in cleanliness, beautification, and signage across the Yatra routes.<\/p>\n

On supply management, CM Dhami made it clear that there must be no shortage of essential commodities such as LPG, petrol, and diesel. District supply officers have been assigned responsibility, with separate nodal officers to ensure daily monitoring.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister stressed the need to strengthen healthcare services, directing the establishment of adequate medical units and temporary hospitals where required. He also instructed enhancement of veterinary facilities and emphasized ensuring clean drinking water through CSR and other available resources.<\/p>\n

Keeping pilgrims\u2019 convenience at the forefront, he directed large-scale development of toilets, shelters, and other essential amenities. He further instructed implementation of an effective slot management system to avoid long waiting times for darshan, along with real-time digital crowd monitoring.<\/p>\n

The online registration system is to be strengthened, with additional booths at high-demand centers and simplification of the digital process. For security, all CCTV cameras along the route must remain fully operational, with AI-based surveillance deployed wherever necessary. Sensitive locations will be under enhanced monitoring through control rooms.<\/p>\n

Taking a firm stand on law and order, the Chief Minister directed adequate deployment of police and home guards across major routes, intersections, and markets. A robust traffic management plan must be implemented to prevent congestion, along with identification and operation of alternate routes to ensure minimal disruption to local residents.<\/p>\n

On disaster preparedness, he instructed prior identification of vulnerable zones and deployment of necessary resources. Coordination between SDRF, NDRF, and local administration must be strengthened, with 24×7 control rooms and helplines ensuring swift emergency response.<\/p>\n

The Chief Minister also directed regular review meetings during the Yatra period and immediate implementation of corrective measures based on past experiences. Roads must be maintained in top condition, with potholes repaired without delay.<\/p>\n

Referring to disputes over community food camps (Bhandaras) last year, he instructed authorities to facilitate dialogue between locals and pilgrims to reach a balanced resolution. Strict action will be taken against overpricing, and display of rate lists at all shops has been made mandatory.<\/p>\n

Regarding transport (arrangements), the Chief Minister directed timely issuance of vehicle fitness certificates, green cards, and trip cards. He also instructed the supply department to ensure uninterrupted availability of LPG, kerosene, petrol, and diesel along the Yatra routes.<\/p>\n

The meeting was attended by Cabinet Minister Shri Bharat Singh Chaudhary, Cabinet Minister Shri Satpal Maharaj (virtually), MLAs, Chief Secretary Shri Anand Bardhan, DGP Shri Deepam Seth, senior administrative officials, and District Magistrates of concerned districts.<\/p>\n\n
