The Hon\u2019ble President will inaugurate two new visitor-centric amenities at Rashtrapati Niketan: a Foot Over Bridge
\n(FOB) enhancing pedestrian safety and access, and a state-of-the-art Equestrian Area celebrating a living heritage
\ntradition.
\n1) Foot Over Bridge \u2013 Seamless connectivity celebrating local architecture
\nThe new FOB spans 105 ft, linking key visitor zones across Rajpur Road and enabling seamless movement between
\nRashtrapati Niketan and the upcoming Rashtrapati Udyan
\n\u2013 a 132-acre campus. Executed by the state PWD of the
\nGovernment of Uttarakhand, the project was completed in 6 months at a cost of \u20b99 crore.
\nDesigned with a local Himalayan aesthetic and architecture, the FOB provides universal access with ramps &
\nhandrails as applicable. The FOB de-risks pedestrian crossings during peak footfall, and strengthens last-mile
\nconnectivity across the state-of-the-art Rashtrapati Niketan project.
\n2) Equestrian Area \u2014 Preserving living heritage of President\u2019s Body Guard
\nThe Equestrian Area extends over 0.7 acres and has been developed by CPWD for 8 of President\u2019s Body Guards
\nhorses. It features three integrated zones: (i) Care & Treatment (treatment bay, bathing points, feed room), (ii)
\nStabling & Welfare with a capacity of 8 horses; ventilation, drainage, bedding standards, and (iii) Riding Arena with a
\nvisitor viewing corridor.
\nAnchored in the equestrian tradition of the President\u2019s Bodyguard (PBG), select PBG horses will be stabled here,
\noffering the public a curated, first-of-its-kind window into equine care and training within the Presidential circuit. The
\nfacility meets modern safety and welfare norms and will be open to visitors during 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM on all days
\nexcept Monday, with guided tours to enrich the experience.<\/p>\n\n
